Especially, he gets helpless having tough schedule in his life and is required both by his teachers and parents to get vigilant, punctual and regular in his study. In other words, he has to manage himself in school and home as well. He definitely can do it.

Students who sail through with high grades and who flunk in exams are in need to schedule their study. Let us see how to do it.

Regularity at work

Do remember that regularity in attendance matters a lot in your study. If you are at full attendance, it would be easier to manage your daily study schedule. Irregularity affects both learning and the work done in class. Can you manage the missing or left over work on a substitute day? It will increase your burden and may also lean you against cribbing the work taken from any other student. Also, can you get the discussions and explanations done by the teachers in each period?

Concept of recreation

Keep in your mind that you are neither a robot nor a gipsy. Don’t try to be smart by getting so studious that you waste your lunch break in doing your homework at school. You have to be scheduled here as well. This time is given to you to recreate yourself. So please, enjoy it! And make sure your mind is fresh to go through another phase of working.

How to study at home

You have to be very careful while scheduling your study timing. Your parents or elder siblings can guide you in the best way. It’s a proper time to study after taking a nap. If written and oral assignments are included in your homework, complete the written work first because it takes longer time to finish. Oral work can be done after coming back from the playground in the evening. This gap will give you a chance to recreate and you won’t get fed up with study. Here, I must repeat my words that don’t try to be a bookworm at all; a couple of hours a day is enough for daily study but time can be extended on the nature of the given work.

When you should learn

Learning requires a fresh mind always. Burning the midnight oil isn’t good and can weaken your mind. Go to bed and have your kip on time. I think you must believe in ‘Early to bad and early to rise.’ Better you learn your lesson early in the morning. This time is good for memorization.

A way to save your time

Learning can be time consuming if your concepts are not clear and rote learning can affect your understanding level. To avoid this, make some points of the given topic and discuss them with any senior or your friends. It will save the time and make easier your learning. Now, you can enjoy reading any magazine or watching a programme on TV other than study routine.

No need to be tougher in exams

There is no need to tighten your schedule before exam. If you have kept revising the syllabus in normal routine, so nothing is there to disturb you and you can study without any anxiety.

Weekends and vacations

You can definitely enjoy your free time of weekends with your cronies. On the contrary, you may utilize their company in examination days as a group study. But you should be selective in making your friends also. Try to follow an organized schedule with them. Neither waste nor be wasted!

Time of vacations is the best opportunity of keeping in touch with forth coming study. Purchase your new prescribed academic books and go through them individually and together with friends. This study will help you out in new level.

So, there is no harm in making fun and relaxing at home and in school but you have to be an opportunist. Good luck!

*****************************************

Written by: Saira Bukhari
Coordinator of Social Studies
The SET School
